Hire product designers in Kaduna
Hiring product designers in Kaduna, Kaduna State in 2026 - what the local market looks like, what to budget, and where to find strong candidates without wading through 300 CVs.
The Kaduna product designer market
Kaduna's tech scene is younger and smaller, with growth concentrated around the universities (Ahmadu Bello University in nearby Zaria, Kaduna State University). Remote roles for Lagos or international companies are increasingly common among Kaduna-based engineers. The cost-of-living differential is meaningful; expect Kaduna candidates to negotiate base salary more than perks.
Nigerian product design talent has reached global standards - the design community in Lagos rivals any city's for craft, with strong representation at international companies via remote roles. The base of strong designers is concentrated in Lagos, with growing pools in Abuja and Port Harcourt. Look for portfolio pieces that show end-to-end product thinking (problem → research → flow → interface → iteration) over pure Dribbble eye-candy. Interview signal: a critique of one of their own past projects, naming the specific tradeoffs they wish they'd made differently.
