Hire data analysts in Lagos
Hiring data analysts in Lagos, Lagos State in 2026 - what the local market looks like, what to budget, and where to find strong candidates without wading through 300 CVs.
The Lagos data analyst market
Lagos concentrates more than half of Nigeria's tech employment - fintech, e-commerce, telco, and the bulk of VC-backed startups. Talent depth is the highest in the country, but so is competition; expect to compete with companies like Flutterwave, Paystack, Moniepoint, and a long tail of growth-stage startups for the strongest candidates. Salaries skew highest here, particularly on Victoria Island and Lekki where most international companies cluster. Remote-first companies hiring nationally treat Lagos rates as the floor, not the median.
Data analyst roles in Nigeria range from pure dashboard-builder positions to embedded analysts who shape product decisions. The Lagos tech scene has a healthy pipeline of analysts trained at fintechs like Kuda, PiggyVest, and Cowrywise - most are comfortable in SQL, Looker or Metabase, and have at least some Python. The interview signal worth chasing: a real example where their analysis changed a product or business decision, with the chain from question to data to action articulated clearly.
